How to teel when you have no players... Gaile ; ANet ; Support
For the last week I have been at Abaddin's Mouth trying for a party to cap my skill...
So whats my problem? I can't find players who need to do that mission. Or get caps there. Or farm there. Or even BE there.
There aren't enough PLAYERs to fill a party. Its been a week, asking for cap/farm/'scorched earth'/mission/bonus teams and there are less than 5 players in the region.
Sure, I play in New Zealand TZ (+12 GMT), but I pop online at all hours of the day. AND in International Zone too.
NO ONE is in Abadon's.
All I can figure is that no one needs to get this mission done, or cap the skills here. And as its the 2ns to last mission, I can figure that there are very few players trying to finish the game ATM. So how many people are really playing the game ATM?
Suggestions - spread the 'GREENS' out over all the areas. Even if the green sets are for only one char class, spread them over missions/areas that require MANY classes to get through.
>>> Intersperse the greens with caps of other classes to promote inter class parties.
>>>Put adversaries against the green-wanters and cappers where the rewards are.
This way there needs to be a full character arrangment to do the area (Abadon's in my case) with seperate rewards for at least 2-3 character types.
This way there will be people in ALL areas, unless there are SO FEW players that the game is about to collapse.

W00t for suggeesting Henchies.
I am asking about real players..........
The question is................................................ .
If, in a final mission, there are less than 6 players in District One, then there can't be amny players tryng to finish...
If no one is finishing then the whole economy collapses - no one needs 15k armour, so no one needs rare materials, no one needs to go to Artisans, no one needs the last mission, no one needs teh last caps, [there are no greens there], the game is finishing....
So Factions has new... What about ther legacy game you leave behind? Even the intro to the new game won't make you add more to the basic? Up the farm in those areas and move people to the. Spread the 'GREENS' across 'abandoned' areas and make PvE players spread out...

Best thing to do is to wait until Saturday/Sunday (more Sunday at some ungodly hour of the morning, seeing as you're in NZ and I'm guessing on the American server) and then see how many are there. I found that the end 2-3 missions are somewhat more active then.

You don't need to beat the game to be able to do everything. All you need is Ascension, and most doors are open for you from that point.
There are only a couple Elites in the last two missions of the game, and chances are you will find mostly warriors trying to get Hundred Blades and Eviscerate. Finishing the game becomes more of a bonus, rather than a driving force, since people will be doing Tombs, UW, FoW, or PvP.
What servers do you play in? European, American, Korean...? The American servers always have people in them. Your best bet is in the evenings, after about 5pm / 1700 EST (-5 GMT), that's when school and work typically are over and more people will be online. Though I hardly ever venture in the International districts, since no one is there.

No, you can acquire the second 15 point attribute quest after you Ascend and complete one of the quests to change your secondary profession.

Six to seven hours before you posted, Abbadon's Mouth had at least two parties forming in D1 of the American district and at least 20-30 people. I was monking a group from the Ring of Fire and saw it as we ended. I have noticed that at off-times few people are there, but at peak times district one has more than enough people even on weekdays.

I have a feeling this will get much worse when factions is released - which means we will desperatly need improved henchies with henchy commands.
As it is, mobs are smarter than the henchies... and in some cases, henchies are smarter than some players (though that's rarer on those fire isle missions).

Henchies completes all missions, you must be one of the stragglers, trying to beat the game.

Maybe if there was a reason to finish the game, more players would be doing so.

Actually, any team that refuses a Ranger into their party for Abaddon's seriously has a problem. Ditto with a Mesmer. You know the three boss combos throughout the mission? Especially in the case of the Elementalist + Monk, it can be extremely difficult without some sort of anti-caster build in your team. Most teams without either a Ranger or Mesmer in their party usually fall apart at the Monk boss, due to his Orison spamming. In our guild, for the last three missions, we prefer to take 3-4 players, and the rest henchmen. Only thing is you must be selective in who those players are. In the case of Abaddon's, have a Healing Monk, Traps/Interruption Ranger, and an Anti-caster Mesmer with interrupts as your players; and then fill the rest with Mhenlo, Lina, Devona, Thom, and Eve. You'd be surprised how well this setup would work in these missions, providing you play it smart.
So my point is that teams need to think outside the box, instead of using the usual build of Tanks, SS/MM, Nukers, Monks, etc.
By the way, there are several people in our guild that currently need Abaddon's, so perhaps you would wish to come along. We'd be glad to have ya.

Or you could take a prot and a heal monk with six warriors specced in their weapon mastery.
Done that before, no need for interrupts as there was that much damage. I've never seen the monk boss drop that fast.

So? Surely if there are only 5 people waiting to do the mission, those 5 people can group up and use henchies to fill the slots? Of course, I think you're exaggerating greatly as on the American servers there are quite a few people in Hell's Precipice, which if you didn't know, comes AFTER Abaddon's...

You never needed any of that stuff. 15K and the rare materials for it are all optional. 15k armor itself is merely a goldsink with an aesthetic reward. Nobody really needs to cap the skills in Abaddon's/Hell's.

I did it just tonight, though it was a pain getting a group (I am in Queensland but was up at about midnight doing this. Still up in fact at 2:30)
We got seven players, in the first area (when your going after the ether seals after you break in) We lost a player not too long after (At the monk/ranger boss pair we lost another) but we kept going. Although I admit we had a great monk we got it done.
At the end we had
W/R Sword Warrior
R/W Axe Beastmaster (IM going back to hammer or sword for my Beastmaster)
Me/Mo running a build with Power spike, empathy, power drain, energy burn etc.
Mo/Me Fantastic Healer
R/? Good ranger degen + kindle
Lina
We didn't have too much trouble only were in major danger twice. So its not a hard mission to do with less players. Ju\st Grab whoevers there and go for it mate.

Just take hench. I did Abaddon's a few days ago with hench.
Mission+Bonus+Infusion+Cleared Zone+Totally Defogged Map
Would have been flawless, except Thom felt the need to die once.
